CÅRBON FRAME OPTIONS for STOCK, CUSTOM AND FULLY BESPOKE BUILDS
At AEIGHT we’re known for making bespoke, made-to-measure, one-off steel frames. But we appreciate that not everyone wants this - for some, carbon-fibre is a great option and therefore, last year we took the decision to offer carbon frames, and custom bikes, alongside our bespoke steel and custom alloy options. We offer and ride several brands including ENVE, HOPE, Basso, OPEN, and now Fifty-One...

Based in Dublin, Fifty-One started in 2016 when retired Pro rider, Aidan Duff, decided to build the bike which he felt wasn't available - throughout his racing career he had many bespoke handmade frames, which was much more common at the time. So he set about making carbon fiber frames in Ireland, to perfectly fit his clients!
Fully bespoke frames are available, but in 2021 Fifty-One launched their Assassin frameset - a full speed gravel racing / adventure chassis which really can handle absolutely anything you can throw at it. We're confident of that because we've raced one at Traka, Unbound and Badlands!
Our PRIMØ build, which features Shimano GRX, Hope wheels and Pro finishing kit starts at £4999! But, of course, the whole point of our workshop is that you can build the bike absolutely any way you want it - we've done some really nice SRAM wireless builds and options are endless!
Standard paint on the Assassin is British Racing Green, Rothmans Blue, or Black-Ops raw carbon! There are limited runs of paint which Fifty-One produce in-house and of course you could potentially dream up your own design - we will of course help guide you at every stage of the process!

New for 2025 is the Sika Road Bike Platform from Fifty-One. Is this the ultimate real-world bike? Currently there's only a handful of frames on the market that can handle 40mm tyres and still claim to be a proper road bike!
The Sika is the bike that can handle it all and is based on real documented fit data - what does that mean? Well, theres a couple of things which make the bike handle nicely and just like our steel frames, Fifty-One have worked hard to keep these included. But, tube lengths that are based upon world tour racers are seldom relevant, so they've also tweeked critical tube sizes to make the frame perfect for you and me - its a bike that fits the rider and behaves like your favorite race bike!
Bikes can be built up in too many options to list, but we recommend thinking along the lines of something like the new Force AXS, with some matching Zipp 303 Firecrest, or maybe some Shimano Dura-Ace with some hand-built custom carbon wheels for that murdered-out bad-ass look. Our ULTIMÄTE build would be SRAM Red AXS, Zipp 454 NSW and a Quarq PM... what would yours be?
Framesets include the cockpit and start at £3850. These can be shot in any custom paint that you'd like and build up to virtually any spec.

The U.P. was the original frame in the OPEN line-up. At a time when "gravel" was finding it's feet, it became the original carbon do-it-all frameset, much like our ØNE frameset.
Through the use of different wheelsets the bike can be set up to be anything from a fast road bike, through to a gravel race bike. It's perfect for muti-day trips on unexplored terrain when you're not sure where the tarmac will run out, or the gravel will lead you!
We've used the U.P. for cyclocross racing, bike-packing, gravel races, road multi-day trips, commuting and we've yet to chuck something at it which it can't handle!
We're also able to supply and build the wider Wi.De gravel frame - as the discipline has evolved the guys at OPEN were reluctant to alter the U.P. so they simply started with an all new frame, with more clearance and a longer wheelbase. The Wi.De is the best option for dedicated gravel adventures, but get in touch to work out which one is best for you!
All levels of build are available and the frames can be painted in absolutely any design or palette... how will you build yours?
